Jane Arthurs
Head, School of Cultural Studies, University of the West of England Jane Arthurs's teaching and research interests are in the fields of television and film studies. Her most recent book is Television and Sexuality: Regulation and the Politics of Taste (Open University Press 2004) examines the impact of the digital revolution on the ways in which television channels address their audiences as sexual citizens and consumers. Jane previously worked on an ESRC funded project on audience responses to the film Crash, in collaboration with Martin Barker and Ramaswami Harindranath. It was an examination of the film's reception in the context of the controversy that accompanied its release in Britain. The Crash Controversy gives an account of their findings.
