for the shortlist.

30 January 2007  -  Shortlist for Media Innovation Awards announced

Just under 30 creative companies from across Devon and Cornwall have been nominated for 11 categories in the Media Innovation Awards 2007, which will be presented in March.

The nominated businesses and individuals come from Ashburton, Barnstaple, Braunton, Croyde, Exeter, Fowey, Newquay, Newton Abbot, Plymouth, Redruth, and Throwleigh, near Exeter.

The Media Innovation Awards 2007 gala awards ceremony will be held on March 1 at St. Mellion International Hotel, Golf and Country Club. The winners of the individual categories will go forward to produce an overall winner who will receive the coveted MIA Trophy.

More than a thousand creative industries practitioners from Devon and Cornwall and their clients were invited to enter the prestigious awards competition to find the star innovators in the region.

As well as the practitioners any business that had commissioned work from members of Plymouth Media-Partnership and Cornwall Media Focus were also encouraged to enter their projects into the awards.

Karen Stockdale of Plymouth Media-Partnership, which is jointly organising the awards with Cornwall Media Focus, said: “The nominees demonstrate what a huge range of talent we have in Devon and Cornwall. Drawing up the shortlist was very difficult and we are sure it will be just as close when it comes to deciding who the winners are.”

Tickets for the Media Innovation Awards 2007 gala ceremony at St. Mellion are now on sale. They cost £30 for a 3 course meal, coffee and a special awards cocktail. The event starts at 7 pm.  To reserve a place call 01752 346530, email: [email protected] or go to www.mediainnovationawards.com
